Restaurants at Botanic Gardens
HIVE GARDEN BISTRO
The Hive is a modern bistro nestled under the trees adjacent to the Monet Pool inside the Denver Botanic Gardens. The large, shaded deck offers idyllic views of water features and Le Potager Garden. Open daily, weather permitting. The restaurant features seasonal fare – including wood-fired pizzas, herb-infused agua frescas, gourmet burgers and crisp salads – prepared to order. Local ingredients and produce harvested from Le Potager garden and the Gardens’ CSA at Chatfield Farms are incorporated into the menu whenever possible.
OFFSHOOTS CAFÉ

THE DENVER HEALTHY CULTURAL ATTRACTION COALITION
Our restaurants at the Denver Botanic Gardens, Hive Garden Bistro, and Offshoots Café, are proud to be a member of the Denver Healthy Cultural Attraction Coalition. Beginning in the fall of 2016, members of the Coalition unveiled unified messaging and signage highlighting healthy food and drink choices at Denver’s top cultural attractions. Convened by Denver Public Health, the Coalition’s members include the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, Denver Zoo, Denver Botanic Gardens, History Colorado Center and Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
This is the first time these venues have worked together to promote health throughout public venues in Denver. While each venue offers unique food and drink to their guests, members agreed they could collectively promote health by making it easy for all visitors to identify the healthiest food and drink options on their menus. These “GO Foods” are highlighted with a green apple icon at all five sites.
To qualify as a GO Food, the menu item must have healthy ingredients and be low in sugar, saturated fat, and salt. While Denver is widely touted as one of the healthiest communities, one in three children are overweight or obese. Limiting foods that are high in fat and salt, as well as reducing sugary drinks, are proven ways to help people stay at a healthy weight. Combined, member venues serve more than six million visitors annually, including children. Making healthy menu options easy to identify is just one way these iconic Denver destinations can help promote wellness to their visitors.
